Lee Lahikainen is a puppeteer, director, puppet builder and a sculptor graduated from Turku Arts Academy in 2010 and is available for work in Turku, Helsinki or anywhere in world.
Besides puppets, Lahikainen’s specialties include mask building, mask theatre, physical theatre, costume and body-mask building and also Butoh dance and visual arts.
Lahikainen is prepared to lead workshops and direct performances, build puppets and masks and perform with or without them.
Lahikainen is interested in languages (both body- and spoken), the movement of plants, transformations, transparency, anatomy, the similarities between objects and people, as well as creating and breaking images.
–Lahikainen has built puppets for numerous performances, choreographed, and acted with and without masks and puppets in the streets and theatres.
– Has used two-dimensional story telling in photograph exhibitions in Imatra, Lappeenranta and Võru, Estonia. Lahikainen’s sculptures have been exhibited in Etelä-Karjala art museum.
– A short story written by Lahikainen has been chosen for young writers anthology.
– Maintains and increases abilities with different trainings and workshops.
– Is on the board of Aura of Puppets. Member of Lappeenranta Art Association and Unima in Finland.
