Mona Krueger graduated from Turku Arts Academy’s puppetry line of studies in 2014. She started her theatre career as an actress, but eventually the magical world of puppetry swept her away. Puppets balancing between the fantastic and realistic world offers almost endless ways and possibilities of expression. Time and time again puppets surprise Krueger and she learns new things about what she thought she already new.
Puppetry, theatre, mime, physical theatre, music, violin, classical singing, folk, butoh, tango, horseback riding
Krueger’s educational background is broad and goes all the way from puppetry to music and drama. Although over the years she has managed to meddle into physical theatre, mime and dance. Because of this her works usually don’t just follow one means of theatre, but combine elements from what suits best the project in question. Visual theatre gets mixed with physical and the end product is often a fusion of puppets, materials, movement, sound and human body. Even though Krueger loves and wants to do exactly what she is doing now, she is also always ready to explore and try out something completely new. Challenges keep her moving.
Mostly Krueger works as a performer, but directing also fascinates her. Due to her strong language skills she can also perform in English and German, in addition to Finnish.
