Little boy Pera doesn’t have a grandfather, so his friend Uffe shows him where he can find one; in a nursing home. Grandpa Nils ends up on a surprising adventure with the boys when he escapes from the nursing home to fly a kite and climbs the neighbor’s tree to steal some cherries.
Based on the classic book by Ulf Stark, this warm and touching story tells of the friendship between two little boys and a grandfather, the meeting of generations, grief and love.
The story, told with warm humor, highlights the similarities between children and the elderly. Children can learn from the elderly and vice versa. The play, which combines theater and puppetry, also beautifully deals with death and grief when losing a grandparent.
The performance is suitable for ages 6 and up. It is especially recommended to see the show with a grandparent.
